Munich Re’s Structure Portfolio Solutions (SPS) team primarily underwrites portfolios of credit risks from banks/financial institutions (FIs) either as reinsurance (Münchener Rückversicherungs AG) or as primary insurance (GLISE).
To complement our heterogeneous team of experts, we are looking for your thorough expertise in loan risk-, pricing-, and cash flow- model building expertise in the field of structured credit portfolio solutions.
YOUR JOB
- Assist or lead the development of rating and scoring credit models as well as database driven cash flow modeling solutions for initial pricing as well as ongoing monitoring of written business.
- Monitor, analyze, re-price existing portfolio and propose portfolio risk/return optimization by steering deal-pipeline.
- Support Risk Management in analyzing the deal flow.
- Assisting in underwriting and structuring business either as portfolio or individual risks with a focus on structured credit portfolio business (US and Europe)
- Maintaining relationships with internal and external cooperation partners in the area of software development, deal modeling, risk-management, accounting as well as capital management
- Analyzing risks of offered portfolio and individual transactions, in cooperation with a deal team if necessary, with a focus on the quantitative analysis
YOUR PROFILE
- University degree in computer engineering/ engineering/natural sciences coupled with business administration or business administration/economics coupled with programming
- Several years of professional experience in credit investment/banking sector, in particular in structured business or model building and data driven middle office support of business or rating and scoring models.
- Experience in underwriting/portfolio management of investments in structured credit portfolio products and/or cash flow-based financing desirable.
- Confident appearance and high social competence towards customers and colleagues
- Superior analytical skills in conjunction with profound programming skills with a focus on databases as well as big data.
- Team spirit, and team-player, initiative, ability to work independently, solution-oriented thinking
- Very solid relevant IT skills (VBA, SQL, Python, Matlab, Azure Cloud, SQL-Server, Data-Bricks, Power BI, etc.)
- Ability to conduct negotiations in English, knowledge of German is of advantage, otherwise willingness to learn German
