The IT Business Solutions RI P&C section delivers business value by managing IT products, executing change projects, and providing agile IT product management, application development, and operational IT support. Our product and project portfolio encompasses underwriting, pricing, and claims management solutions across all Non-Life Reinsurance business lines.To strengthen our team of recognized IT experts, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Business Analyst. The IT Business Solutions RI P&C section oversees global IT account management for Non-Life Reinsurance Underwriting and is responsible for the maintenance and development of key IT systems, including the Underwriting Platform (UWPF), Exposure Management Platform, and systems supporting Facultative & Corporate business.
As a Business Analyst, you will focus on web applications that support the underwriting lifecycle process. The primary objective of these applications is to establish a forward-looking target framework for Facultative & Corporate (F&C) analytics within the global underwriting (UW) tool landscape. This application will enhance data integration and enable advanced analytics, facilitating more precise and proactive portfolio management throughout the underwriting cycle. Additionally, it will provide user-friendly reporting across all business lines.
This position is based in Munich.
Your Job
- Analyze reinsurance underwriting business processes and identify opportunities for improvement, working closely with business stakeholders and technical architects
- Lead a requirements team to identify and understand business challenges, document system requirements, and define acceptance criteria for IT solutions
- Design and implement automated test management mechanisms that provide a high degree of automation
- Drive the alignment, evaluation and prioritization of identified requirements within business units, and shape related project and product backlogs in coordination with project management
- Ensure end-to-end alignment with internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain a consistent, integrated, and resilient target system and data landscape to support a cost-effective digital business
Your Profile
- University degree, preferably in Computer Engineering/IT or similar qualification
- Understanding of core reinsurance business processes and stakeholder management
- Proven experience in business analysis, translating business needs into system requirements, and maintaining product documentation
- Several years of IT experience, preferably in application development, with knowledge of agile software development and product lifecycles
- Experience documenting requirements using use cases, user stories, and modeling techniques (e.g., UML with Sparx Enterprise Architect)
- Valid and recent Requirements Engineering certification such as IREB desirable
- Collaborative mindset that encourages accountability and knowledge sharing
- High commitment, flexibility and ability to handle diverse tasks
- Business acumen with the ability to translate IT topics into business perspectives
- Ideally excellent German and English language skills and willingness to travel
