In the Division Reinsurance Controlling (RIC), the responsibilities for controlling and management reporting are bundled together to provide a uniform controlling process. RIC advises the Reinsurance Committee (RVA), RI-CEO and the RI-CFO in respect of the current economics of the Reinsurance Segment and proper allocation of resources. RIC advises divisional board members and divisional leaders in respect of their operative units. In parallel to the Reinsurance Controlling mission, RIC enables the global provision of structured internal Reinsurance Data as the Global Process Owner for Reporting.
The section “Analytics & ESG Reporting” within RIC
- On the one hand delivers ad hoc analysis either by focusing on specific business units or the whole Reinsurance Segment. The objective is to deliver quick responses to the current questions driving steering and top-management decisions.
- On the other hand, the section manages the delivery of Sustainability Reporting KPIs for the reinsurance activities of the Reinsurance Group such as for the EU Taxonomy reporting and Munich Re’s Climate Ambition.
The Controller Analytics function relates to the first goal of the section (Analytics) and significantly contributes to the identification, preparation and execution of cross-functional analysis with a focus on data gathering, data preparation and data analysis.
You will have an impact on decisions taken at senior executive and top management level for all businesses in the reinsurance segment. You will influence the future success of RIC as a business partner.
YOUR JOB
- Collaborate with business and controlling stakeholders to understand data and analysis needs
- Identify and understand data sources also outside of traditional controlling and steering databases
- Support in developing analysis and visualization that help business and senior executives in data-driven decision making
- Be an expert and main contact for team members and other partners regarding data analytics from a technical as well as from a content perspective
- Prepare results and steering suggestions for relevant stakeholders including senior executives and top management based on data-driven storytelling
YOUR PROFILE
- University degree, preferably in business, statistics or mathematics
- Track record in successfully managing and executing time-critical data analytics projects and solutions
- Knowledge of analytical programming (SQL, R, Python, etc.) and visualization / business intelligence tools (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.)
- Re- or primary insurance experience, especially UW and actuarial knowledge is a plus
- Goal oriented with the ability to independently complete tasks with minimal oversight
- Proactive approach and innovative strength
- Client-centric and service-oriented work attitude
- Very good command of business English
