The Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at TUM Universitätsmedizin (Klinikum rechts der Isar) is coordinating the CRC/TRR167, Development, Function and Potential of Myeloid Cells in the Central Nervous System, funded by the German Research Foundation. We are also coordinating the project, Neuroimmunological mechanisms in health and disease, at the German Center for Mental Health (DZPG) in Munich. We are performing cutting edge research projects in the fields of neuroimmunology, neuropsychiatry, and neurodegeneration. In particular, we focus on translational research with expertise in basic science and access to clinical cohorts.
Your responsibilities:
- Performing analysis at the single-cell level using microscopy imaging, multicolor flow cytometry, transcriptomics, and imaging mass cytometry (IMC), …
- Performing analysis on postmortem human brain tissues and transgenic mouse models
- In vitro experiments, including stem cell culture for developing patient-derived microglia cells
- Biochemical experiments for validating the data
Your profile
- Master’s degree in the relevant fields (Biology, Biomedical Science, Neuroscience or similiar qualification)
- A demonstrated ability to perform high-quality research as evidenced by thesis, grades, lab rotations, and publications (if applicable)
- Laboratory experience is advantageous
- Analytical skills, a passion for solving research problems, and a self-driven interest in learning new things
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team, with proficiency in English for an international work environment
