Within the GPO department, our team has various and diversified engagements within the reinsurance segment. We manage and reconcile various relationships within the companies of the group, take responsibilities for special and retroactive treaties and assess all relevant questions concerning accounting principles (IFRS & HGB). Our objective is continuous improvement and optimization as well as conformity with accounting standards while permanently coordinating and involving the group-wide, international contacts and interfaces.
In this ever-changing environment, we are looking for a dedicated Financial Accountant for our team for the intercompany reconciliation and retrocession task to engage and add value to the following tasks:
Your job:
- Securing accounting functionalities and duties with regards to R/I held, Intercompany mirroring and processing for the dedicated responsibilities
- Ensuring groupwide retrocession tasks and system set-up, supporting the team and group-wide entities in process, system and technical matters, reviewing functionalities and ensuring consistent retro and accounting standards
- Accompanying timely closing activities and the team in generating and reconciling figures, including data preparation, monitoring and deviation analyses to ensure a straightforward intercompany and retrocession closing process
- Executing quarterly closings steps, ensuring consistent accounting data quality while balancing the interlink between business and accounting standard requirements
- Participating in cross-department and group-wide interfaces and working groups, acting as retrocession and intercompany contact person
- Constantly investigating automatization potentials to leverage synergies to optimize the accounting work environment to lessen effort, ensure and improve quality standards
Your profile
- University degree preferably in finance, accounting, business administration or an equivalent education in the (re)insurance industry, or with several years of professional experience in the accounting environment
- Good accounting knowledge (HGB, IFRS, Solvency II) including willingness to deal more intensively with the new standards IFRS 9 and IFRS 17
- Good IT skills and experience, especially with SAP and Microsoft applications (FSRI, BO reporting, MS O365, PowerBi beneficial)
- Strong command of spoken and written English and German
- Very good analytical skills, eagerness to tackle complex issues
- High motivation and ability to work efficiently and independently as well as flexibility regarding time management
- Distinct ability to work in a team, intercultural skills in working constructively with colleagues and various interfaces
