Your tasks:
- Support Cloud Solutions: Assist in the transition to a cloud-based data platform, learning to innovate on our existing on-premise solutions.
- Build & Engineer: Help with the migration and optimization of data flows using modern tools like Kafka, AWS S3, Snowflake, and Airflow.
- Promote Data Governance: Learn about data governance practices to ensure data integrity and compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work alongside data scientists, business analysts, and IT staff within our enthusiastic data community to enhance our technical skills.
- Contribute to Performance: Aid in the development of a scalable and reliable data infrastructure with a focus on performance improvement.
- Assist with Cost Management: Support efforts to manage infrastructure costs while maintaining system performance and reliability.
Your skills
- Eagerness to Learn: A strong desire to develop your skills in software or data engineering, with some foundational knowledge in building data systems.
- Basic Technical Skills: Familiarity with Python (or Java), SQL, and an understanding of cloud services, particularly AWS
- Hands-On Experience (Preferred): Any exposure to cloud-based data warehousing, especially Snowflake, and transformation frameworks like DBT is a plus. Knowledge of real-time data streaming, including Kafka, is also helpful.
- Willingness to Grow: A genuine interest in learning about migrating data workflows to the cloud and transforming processes.
- Basic Understanding of Governance: A growing awareness of data governance principles, including data quality and compliance.
- Collaborative Spirit: A team player excited to learn, share ideas, and develop strong communication skills in English across our organization.
