As part of the Research Training Group RTG 2668 “Immune Master Switches in Allergies and Autoimmune Diseases”, the research group “Airway Immunology” led by Prof. Dr. Carsten Schmidt-Weber and PD Dr. Constanze Jakwerth is looking for a PhD Student.
The translational project investigates key factors of the innate immune system that control the development of tolerance to allergen-specific immunotherapy (AIT) at the immune system level and at the muscosal airway barrier. State-of-the-art technology (including high-dimensional flow cytometry, transcriptome analyses, proteomics) will be used to identify and functionally characterise human T cell subtypes, molecular signalling pathways and new adjuvant agents.
Your responsibilities:
- You will establish human 3D and tissue cultures
- Your tasks include immunofluorescence staining, cofocal microscopy and image analysis
- Your work includes molecular biological and epigenetic analyses
- You will carry out individual analyses such as high-dimensional flow cytometry or single cell sequencing
- You will analyse immune mediators at RNA and protein level
- You will independently plan, carry out and analyse experiments
Your profile
- You already have a degree in the field of life sciences, biology, biochemistry, molecular medicine or molecular biotechnology
- You have already gained practical experience with molecular biological, immunological or cell biological methods
- You are enthusiastic about translational immunology and tolerance mechanisms in allergic and inflammatory diseases**** We offer you:
