About us:
The Russo lab is a new independent research group in the Physiological Chemistry Department and is funded, among others, by an Emmy Noether (DFG) fellowship.
Gene Regulation and Chromatin Metabolism
The Russo lab investigates how nuclear acyl-CoA metabolism regulates chromatin remodelling, transcription, and cellular plasticity in response to environmental changes. Our lab combines omics-based approaches, metabolite tracing, imaging, and biochemical techniques to explore how metabolic enzymes function within the nucleus and interact with chromatin factors. Research Technician (BTA / MTA / CTA) (m/f/x)
in Planegg-Martinsried
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- You will conduct molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemical experiments.
- You will prepare samples for next-generation sequencing and mass spectrometry (MS) analysis. Your contribution will streamline workflows with local genomics and proteomics facilities.
- You will be trained to generate and maintain mammalian cell lines used in our projects.
- During a three-month teaching period, you will support the practical training of medical and dental students as part of the departmental teaching duties.
- You enjoy working in a dynamic and international research environment.
- You are motivated to help organize the lab, manage reagent and consumable orders, and contribute to the establishment of the lab infrastructure.
- You are interested in developing your own area of responsibility and learning new techniques.
Your qualifications:
- Completed training as a laboratory technician (BTA, MTA, CTA or equivalent), or a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in life sciences.
- Previous experience in standard molecular, cell, and biochemical techniques is highly desirable.
- Ideally, you bring interest or experience in structural biology or protein biochemistry.
- Highly motivated, well-organized, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of German is a plus but not required.
