The Design & Frontend unit within the Business Technology Department at Munich RE is responsible for delivering digitalization initiatives across the full life-cycle, from ideation, prototyping and digital product design through to production-quality delivery of scalable products. Our objective is to make innovative initiatives successful. Based on business needs we implement highly reusable, multi-tenant insurance and risk assessment platforms in the cloud.
Due to the maternity leave of one of our team members there is a temporary vacancy in the team for a qualified Senior Digital Designer to start at the earliest possible date. You will report to the Head of Experience Design and you will be responsible for delivering and enhancing products and services around digital design. This includes the further development and operation of Munich Re’s experience design system XDS and the creation and promotion of design services, UX Patterns and best practices.
This position will be part of a cross-functional digital experience design team and you will support software development projects with highly qualified designers and front-end developers.
YOUR JOB
- Part of cross-functional product teams and platforms, where you will be responsible for all UX related activities, from user research to prototyping, testing and UI design and help foster the growing design culture at Munich Re
- Transforming complex requirements in the context of reinsurance into easy to use applications that facilitate our users' daily work
- Supporting colleagues with less experience in their professional way
- Overseeing and guiding external designers in their work
- Working closely with the design system team in continuously improving and promoting the system
- Working closely with the UX Lead to strategically develop Munich Re's UX capabilities overall and inside the experience design team
- Developing, represent and introduce UX related topics in the company
YOUR PROFILE
- University Degree in design related field or equal work experience
- Several years of experience in working as a UX designer
- You have experience in working with interdisciplinary agile development teams and being the user’s advocate
- You have experience in working with advanced design systems
- You are to able develop, discuss and present UX artifacts, such as user flows or information architecture and explain UX methodology in a confident and solution oriented manner with your team or in front of management
- You have experience in preparing and conducting user tests
- You have proficient knowledge of UX standards and best practices in web applications (mobile is a plus)
- You have advanced knowledge in working with Figma
- You have experience in an agile environment using Azure DevOps, Jira or similar tools
- You have experience in leading workshops
- Experience with writing user stories and introducing UX into agile processes is a plus
- Fluent Business English and German
