Job description
In your new role you will:

  • Leading the Environmental Safety & Health team (ESH) and providing day to day operational coverage for all environmental, health and safety needs.
  • Be a role model safety leadership and leading safety related investigation and 8D process to determine root cause with short- and long-term solutions.
  • Developing and preparing reports for local regulatory bodies such as MOM, NEA, SCDF, overseeing internal NZC data reporting for the site, and ensuring compliance with ESH regulations and policies
  • Acting as Site Sustainability Champion, owner of Sustainability Plan, regulating the sites permit to work system and conduct joined site reviews and assessments before any JOHAN and MSRA for the site are approved.
  • Leading the site’s Human Rights initiative in accordance with local and corporate guidelines, ensuring a fair and ethical working environment for all employees.
  • Participating in monthly/quarterly and yearly budget update and forecast meetings, providing accruals for the department each month, and updating spend forecasts.
  • Manage and coordinate ESH training programs, site Emergency Response team’s capabilities on ESH related emergencies, across the organization, ensuring employees are adequately trained and informed about EHS policies, procedures, and sustainability goals.
  • Leading and participating in accident investigation and reporting, serving as a key ESH resource for the site ensuring complete and thorough investigations for all ESH & Security related incidents, timely follow-up of all recommended actions by respective assigned employees.
  • Maintaining an effective industrial hygiene and health program to monitor employee exposures to chemical and physical risks and ensuring no occupational-related health problems.
  • Working closely with local Government Authorities to ensure the plant has all the relevant working permits and licenses regarding ESH matters, and maintaining a good working relationship with all the relevant Authorities.

Your profile

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

  • Diploma/ certification in engineering, real estate, workplace safety or equivalent
  • Bachelors degree in engineering, real estate, finance, human resource or equivalent will be an added advantage
  • Min 15 years experience in an environment, health and safety role
  • Preferably with min 10 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing/ chemical plant/ oil & gas
  • Registered as a Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower
  • Strong experience in designing and driving ESH program and work closely with other department for implementation
  • Strong experience in leading ESH and delivery program through others
  • Experience as a people manager is a plus
  • Certified Fire Safety Manager (FSM) is a plus
  • Water Efficiency Manager (WEM) is a plus
  • Working knowledge of OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 & Safety Management Systems are added advantages.
  • Strong Leadership skills, a team player and good communication and interpersonal skills
