Who will you be joining?
This role is based in Allianz SE - Group Accounting and Reporting and will support the accounting activities for Allianz Reinsurance. This diverse role exposes you to the different facets of the Allianz Reinsurance Accounting function. High quality as well as performance standards are applied when serving our customers and stakeholders as well as for processing all kind of data. You will contribute to managing the reinsurance accounts for Allianz Group internal business as well as for Third Party clients. Within this responsibility you will be exposed to processing claims, to handling the financial accounts, to performing data quality controls and data analysis as well as to serving our customers and stakeholders in all reinsurance accounting related matters.
In addition, contribute to Allianz Reinsurance's monthly and quarterly financial closing in line with German Accounting principles as well as IFRS17. Innovation is key to us - therefore we continuously look for process & system enhancements including Robotics. This role will give you the opportunity to be part of our innovation journey.
With its focus on Data Quality Management and Claims Administration within our global Reinsurance Accounting function, this position supports our service delivery towards customers and stakeholders.
How can you make an impact?
You will:
- be responsible for a set of different cedents & brokers, for the assumed reinsurance business as well as the retrocession linked to it within the scope and tasks of the Reinsurance Accounting function
- review accounting data inputs from cedants and brokers including compliance with reinsurance contract conditions
- manage and steer the reinsurance accounting data upload & mapping process, claims administration
- ensure data quality, perform contract performance analysis, and provide clarifications to Management, Underwriting, and Claims
- clarify discrepancies between accounting data and contract terms & conditions including correspondence with cedents/brokers and Underwriting
- conduct timely reconciliation of reinsurance receivables and payables
- ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, including analysis and clarification of intercompany differences
- apply internal as well as external accounting & reporting standards incl. German Accounting principles and IFRS
- work closely with our Offshoring partner for all standardized and repetitive tasks
- contribute to projects and initiatives on demand
What are you made of?
Minimum Qualifications:
- University degree in Business administration (preferably with the focus on accounting) or comparable education (Certified Accountant) and / or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years' Experience in (re)insurance operations and knowledge of reinsurance terms and conditions, in particular with regards to technical accounts
- Ability of developing and applying operational excellence including process structure, process efficiency and process documentation experience in working with reinsurance administration and accounting software
- IT literate including Excel at advanced level
- Excellent analytical skills, highly numerate and comfortable with quantitative analysis, with a good attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong team player and ability to work with others effectively
- Strong organizational skills, ability to plan ahead and multi-task
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications:
- German language is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in business related functions (i.e. Sales, Operations, Claims, Underwriting, Investment Management, Asset Management, Consulting, Product Development, Finance, Market Management, Digital / Tech etc.) is a plus
