Overview of Role:
Our Optimized Assets capability is looking for a solutions lead to work within Arcadis Germany’s growth team. The successful candidate will work in the team to:

  • Lead the growth of a sustainable, profitable, Intelligent Buildings practice focused on a wide variety of asset types and locations
  • Responsible for the management and development of client relationships, including existing and new clients
  • Work across Arcadis’ European operating regions, supporting pursuits and winning work
  • Ensure Arcadis is the leading end-to-end Optimized Assets practice on the market
  • Direct the design and delivery of strategy and technical work related to the intelligent buildings' value propositions
  • Encourage and identify opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling of other Arcadis’ services into secured projects
  • Build trusted-advisor relationships with senior management client team members
  • Drive innovation and fresh thinking across project delivery, and support delivery teams to perform at their best and deliver market-leading work
  • Act as a project sponsor, providing a route for issue escalation and playing a key governance role as part of project steering committees
  • Demonstrate people leadership; creating fellowship, inspire and motivate people whether this is on or off project both internally as well as in client environments
  • Contribute to the development of new and the improvement of existing Arcadis service lines and sector-specific offerings, to continuously improve business performance
  • Represent Arcadis’ at conferences and market-facing events, helping develop the business brand in the field of intelligent buildings
  • Be an internal Optimized Assets champion, helping grow wider awareness and understanding of the value these services can bring to existing clients

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Lead business development and relationship building with clients, and managing this process from initial client conversation through to the award of contract
  • Lead the bidding, winning & successful delivery of exciting, high profile and high-margin projects (up to 1mil Euro)
  • Play a leading role in bidding, winning & successful delivery of multidisciplinary projects (up to and above 1mil Euro)
  • Pitching and presenting in front of clients to develop closer relationships with clients and cultivate business
  • Work closely with account and sector leads to identify opportunities to expand and grow the scope of services being offered and delivered
  • Ensure the strategic delivery of projects and that they meet the desired technical standards
  • Continue to inspire and improve quality across the business, hence further raising our Client’s profile for design excellence (through technology)
  • Lead client and key stakeholder engagements and influence decision-making
  • Work closely with the IB delivery teams to support business development as well as project delivery
  • Support the growing of the team with creative, commercially aware, innovative consultants who can deliver complex solutions
  • Lead and deliver strategic/critical projects
  • Keep up to date with developing best practice, standards and technology
  • Grow a network of supplier, partners and clients
  • Work with the team to 1) Inform resourcing needs for high-margin projects, 2) Act as a career mentor, 3) Proactive dialogue with Line Manager that encompasses wellbeing and personal development

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree educated with previous top-tier management consulting experience or equivalent
  • Track record of developing and implementing digital, technology and/or intelligent building strategies at a variety of scales in different markets
  • Track record in business development and nurturing new business lines within a large organisation.
  • Advanced industry experience through design processes, construction stages and technology deployment steps across multi-discipline teams
  • Ability to articulate abstract value propositions into practical business cases for the built environment market
  • Ability to provide advisory services on IoT market, smart building solutions and digital infrastructure enablement in the built environment
  • Creative and imaginative, able to identify commercial opportunities and inspiring appropriate solutions across the entire lifecycle of the clients building(s)
  • Clear client focus; able to build credibility quickly with team members and Clients alike whilst exercising sound commercial judgment
  • Excellent visual representation and storytelling skills
  • Goal oriented and enthused by the challenge of achieving solutions
  • Motivational/encouraging approach & be excellent team builder
