Technical Buyer (m/f/d)

Your Mission

We are looking for a Technical Buyer (m/f/d). With your technical expertise and negotiation skills, you will identify the best international suppliers to provide RobCo with high-quality materials and components. Your contribution will play a crucial role in ensuring our success as Europe's leading company for automation solutions in the SMB sector. Backed by over €50 million in funding from renowned VCs such as Sequoia Capital and Lightspeed, as well as top-tier business angels like Daniel Dines and Torsten Reil, we are well-positioned to bring our vision to life.

Technical Documentation and Analysis

  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications (e.g., mechanical components, electronic parts).
  • Ensuring compliance with standards such as ISO, RoHS, or CE.
  • Implementing quality requirements and relevant certifications.

Material and Manufacturing Management

  • Planning and procurement of goods and raw materials for our project-based technical solutions.
  • Collaborating with suppliers on component modifications.
  • Understanding manufacturing processes such as injection molding, CNC machining, or similar.

Supplier Management and Market Analysis

  • Building and maintaining supplier relationships, as well as analyzing their technical capabilities.
  • Identifying alternative materials/components based on cost and technical compatibility.

Procurement and Negotiation

  • Requesting quotes and comparing price-performance ratios.
  • Negotiating prices, contracts, and delivery terms.
  • Developing procurement strategies.

Quality and Supply Chain Control

  • Monitoring supply chains and delivery schedules.
  • Ensuring product quality and adherence to tolerances.

Data Management and Documentation

  • Recording and maintaining data in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Xentral).
  • Preparing documents for import, export, and returns in collaboration with the logistics department.

Your Profile

  • You have completed vocational training (e.g., as a master craftsman or technician in mechanical engineering, mechatronics) or hold a degree in business administration, logistics, or a comparable field.You bring several years of professional experience in procurement.
  • You possess solid technical expertise, particularly in components and manufacturing processes.
  • You are proficient in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Xentral) and have basic knowledge of CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
  • You demonstrate strong negotiation skills and confidence in price and contract negotiations, including in international business relationships.
  • You work precisely and systematically with numbers and are characterized by a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach.
  • You have excellent organizational skills and can efficiently manage complex data and processes.
  • You enjoy working in a team and are willing to support cross-departmental projects as well as travel to suppliers or trade fairs when needed.
  • Excellent German and English skills, both written and spoken, complete your profile.
