Your mission

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented working student to join our product management team at Checkmk. In this role, you will be a versatile multitasker, positioned at the intersection between our users and the development teams. You will assist in taking new and exciting features from ideation through our agile development process, all the way to implementation and validation, as outlined in our roadmap. This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in gaining hands-on experience in software product management and UX:

• Provide support in coordinating agile product management and software development processes.
• Assist in developing Ideal Customer Profiles (ICP) and marketing personas for our products.
• Conduct market research to understand customer needs and the competitive landscape.
• Help identify friction points and provide insights to guide feature prioritization.
• Independently handle smaller projects and communicate across departments, collaborating closely with colleagues from sales, consulting, marketing, and software development.

Your profile

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program with an IT focus and/or IT-related studies (e.g., computer science, business informatics, etc.)
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; German is a plus
• Hands-on attitude: You enjoy playing around with software and trying out features in order to gain an in-depth understanding of the underlying functionality.
• Proactive and independent work ethic, capable of managing smaller projects autonomously
• Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges, with good IT knowledge; practical Linux skills are a plus

Deine Aufgaben

Wir suchen einen motivierten und detailorientierten Werkstudenten zur Verstärkung unseres Produktmanagement-Teams bei Checkmk. In dieser Rolle bist du ein vielseitiger Multi-Tasker, der an der Schnittstelle zwischen unseren Nutzern und den Entwicklungsteams steht. Du hilfst dabei, neue Produktfeatures von der Ideenfindung über unseren agilen Entwicklungsprozess bis hin zur Implementierung und Validierung zu entwickeln. Wenn du praktische Erfahrungen im Bereich Software-Produktmanagement und UX sammeln möchtest, ist das deine Gelegenheit:

• Unterstützung bei der Koordination von agilen Produktmanagement- und Softwareentwicklungsprozessen.
• Mithilfe bei der Entwicklung von Ideal Customer Profiles (ICP) und Marketing Personas für unsere Produkte.
• Durchführung von Marktforschung zum Verständnis der Kundenbedürfnisse und der Wettbewerbslandschaft.
• Unterstützung bei der Identifikation von Verbesserungspotentialen im Entwicklungsprozess; Bereitstellung von Erkenntnissen für die Priorisierung der Produktentwicklung.
• Selbstständige Bearbeitung kleinerer Projekte und abteilungsübergreifende Kommunikation in enger Zusammenarbeit mit Kollegen aus Sales, Consulting, Marketing und Entwicklung.

Dein Profil

• Du bist aktuell als Student (m/w/d) in einem Studiengang mit IT-Bezug und/oder IT-Nähe (z.B. Informatik, Wirtschaftsinformatik usw.) eingeschrieben.
• Du verfügst über ausgeprägte analytische Fähigkeiten und Liebe zum Detail.
• Du pflegst eine ausgezeichnete schriftliche und mündliche Kommunikationsfähigkeiten in Englisch; Deutsch ist ein Plus.
• “Hands-on”-Einstellung: Du hast Spaß daran, mit Software zu experimentieren und Funktionen auszuprobieren, um die zugrunde liegende Funktionalität zu verstehen.
• Deine Arbeitsweise ist proaktiv und selbstständig; du hast die Fähigkeit, kleinere Projekte selbständig zu verwalten.
• Du lernst gerne dazu und hast die Bereitschaft, dich neuen Herausforderungen zu stellen, sowie gute IT-Kenntnisse; praktische Linux-Kenntnisse sind von Vorteil.
